Gyeongju 경주 was the only capital of Sila, 신라, Kingdom for almost 1,000 years (BC57-AD935).
태종 무열왕릉 TaeJong MuYeolWang, 29th King of Sila Kingdom. He was the first king of the "Jin-Gol" caste because there were not any "Seong-Gol," the Pure Lineage, left to succeed the reign of the kingdom.
With help of his brother-in-law, Kim Yu-Shin, a strong military general, he laid the foundation as a diplomat under the reign of the first queen of Korean history, Seondeokyeowang, 선덕여왕, and later as a king, to conquer the other two kingdoms in Korean peninsula and defeat China Tang's expeditionary forces during his son's reign, 30th King, Munmudaewang, 문무대왕.
